swim time trial - sunday 5 july
Don't forget we have organised a timed 750 metre / 1,500 metre swim time trial at Beau Sejour on Sunday 5th July from 6pm for GTC members. This would be the perfect tune up prior to the inter insular triathlon later that month.
We need a minimum of 12 people so if you are interested in taking part please let Hubert Nicolle know on hugh_emma77@hotmail.com asap. No entries on the day.
NEXT AQUATHLON - NEW DATE, NEW VENUE!!!!
The Aquathlon scheduled for Friday 10 July has been postponed to the following week of Friday 17 July. We thought you might be bored of Pembroke by now so just for a bit of variety this aquathlon will be held at Vazon (on the right hand side of the bay as you face out to sea). The swim will be a two-lap triangular affair, with a brief beach exit halfway through, depending on how high the tide is, transition may be on the beach.
The run will head clockwise around Fort Hommet headland, turning and retracing the route after 1.5km.
Registration is between 6pm and 6:15pm - the race will start at 6:30pm.

GRANITE MAN 2009
GTC members don't forget to pre-enter for the Granite Man event on Sunday 6 September at Pembroke. Places are filling up fast with only 11 places left in the Sprint event and 35 places left in the Middle distance event. Remember to quote your GTC membership number when booking your place through Entry Central to receive the discounted race fees. This is our only event where places are restricted so book early and don't miss out on the fun!
BIKE Training
Open to everyone - Sunday mornings at 8am at L'Aumone Garage providing there is no triathlon/duathlon on. Rides will be steady paced. If too many people of different abilities turn up the group may split into two.
HOUGUETTE SCHOOL TRIATHLON
Thank you to everyone who helped marshal/timekeep at the Houguette School Triathlon last night. This now annual event had an amazing 62 children taking part all aged between Year 2 and Year 6. Glad to see the tri club already has its future stars in place with excellent performances from the mini Gallagher's, Naftel's, Stapley's and Dorey!
2XU triathlon kit at ian browns
Ian Brown's now has the new 2009 "2XU" kit. This includes tri suits, shorts and tops and also the full 2XU wetsuit range. Pop down and see Paul Brehaut for any advice or email Paul on paul@ianbrowns.net.

The 12th July is a busy weekend for our triathletes. Good luck to everyone off to Feins triathlon in France - Alan Rowe, Ian Scholes, Richard and Carol-Anne Stapley, Jonathan Greenfield and Sarah Crowe.
Good luck also to Mark Naftel, Adrian Thorley and Jim Spelman who will be off to Roth for their yearly ironman experience!
And finally good luck to Tim Johns who is off to Dorney Lake, Eton for a special charity olympic triathlon.

sea swimming
They're back! Friday sea swims have resumed. Please email Tim Johns if you want to be on the weekly email reminder. This will let you know which bay the evening swim will start from.
NEW POOL OPENING TIMES
As of February, Beau Sejour pool will now be open from 7.15am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Perfect to sneak that extra session in before work.
